Frequently Asked Questions

Do we have to make reservations in advance?

Tours fill up quickly and so can rentals, so we do recommend making advanced reservations.  If it rains, we refund your tour 100% or reschedule (your choice).  If the book now feature is closed for a tour up to 1 hour before a scheduled tour, give us a call.

What is your cancellation policy?

Customers will receive a full refund with 24 hours notice of cancellation. Customers will also receive a full refund in case of operator cancellation due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. Contact us by phone to cancel or inquire about a cancellation. No-shows will be charged the full price.

What are your kayaks and paddles like?

Kayaks are sit-on-top single and tandem (two people per kayak) that can be paddled solo as well.  Life vests are provided.

Is there a weight limit for kayaks?

Combined weight limit of 450 lbs. per kayak.  If you are over that, we can separate you into 2 kayaks.

How long do the kayak tours last?

Tours last about 1.5-2 hours, we ask that you please meet at least 30 minutes before your scheduled tour to use the bathroom and sign waivers. Safety overview and kayaking instructions will be provided.

Can I bring my child? Do I need to pay for another seat for them?

If a child is old enough (6+) to sit in the kayak safely on their own, regardless of paddling, then they must pay for their own seat.  An adult must go with a child.

What should we wear?

Please wear comfortable clothing, yoga pants, swimsuit, light layered clothing and flip flops, water shoes or shoes you don’t mind getting wet.  Sunglasses, sunscreen and a hat are a great for sun protection.

What should we bring?

Bring a small towel to throw over your lap or dry off with if you want to go for a swim (sometimes you get wet from paddling).

Where do we meet you for tours or rentals?

We meet for all tours and rentals at the Cooperage (formerly Hot Water Warehouse) parking lot.

Do I need to sign a waiver?

All participants must sign a waiver and minors (under age 18) must have a guardian sign for them. Waivers are available here or at the launch. To speed things up, print out and sign before arriving.
